Vijayawada: After YSRC president YS Jagan Mohan Reddy and TDP supremo N Chandrababu Naidu launched their respective election campaigns, Jana Sena chief Pawan Kalyan is set to launch his ‘Varahi Vijaya Bheri’ yatra on Saturday from Pithapuram, the Assembly constituency. He is contesting elections from the area. ,
During the first phase of the campaign, which runs till April 12, the actor-politician will stay in Pithapuram for three days and later visit Tenali on April 3. The JSP Political Affairs Committee (PAC) chairman has been fielded from Tenali assembly constituency. ,
After this, Pawan will hold public meetings in Nellimarla, Anakapalle, Ilamanchili, Pendurthi, Kakinada Rural till April 8. He will go back to Pithapuram for the Telugu New Year Ugadi, and continue his campaign in Razole, P Gannavaram and Rajamagaram on April. 10, 11 and 12 respectively. Pawan will address the public in his ‘Varaahi’ vehicle after a long gap.
After reaching Pithapuram on Saturday morning, he will offer prayers at Padagaya Kshetram and hold a meeting with his party leaders. Pawan will start the election campaign after performing special puja of Varahi Vahan. His first public meeting will be held at Ramalayam Center in Chebrolu.
After unsuccessfully contesting from Gajuwaka and Bhimavaram in 2019, the JSP chief has focused special attention on Pithapuram. Influential Kapus in the area can sway the election results in their favor.
To counter Pawan, the YSRC has reportedly entrusted former minister Mudragada Padmanabham with the responsibility of garnering support from the Kapu community.
Sources said that in the second phase of the election campaign, Pawan will address public meetings with TDP and BJP leaders.
