Nawabganj/Bareilly: A tragic accident occurred on Tuesday at a private hospital in the Nawabganj area of Bareilly district, Uttar Pradesh. Mishrilal, alias Lala Prasad (70), died after an X-ray machine fell on him at ‘Arya Hospital and Group of Institutions,’ owned by Nawabganj MLA Dr. MP Arya. Chaos ensued at the hospital following the accident. The deceased’s family members created a massive uproar, accusing the hospital staff of negligence. Upon receiving the information, a police team, accompanied by a forensic team, arrived at the scene and initiated an investigation into the incident.
A large crowd gathered at the hospital premises immediately after news of the accident spread. According to reports, 70-year-old Mishrilal (alias Lala Prasad), a resident of Shahpurji Sukhray village, was engaged in fish farming. His family stated that he had been suffering from severe abdominal pain since Friday. As his condition deteriorated, he was brought to ‘Arya Hospital and Group of Institutions’ on the Pilibhit Highway for treatment. Doctors at the hospital began examining him and proceeded with the necessary tests alongside his treatment.
It is reported that on Tuesday, while an X-ray procedure was underway, the machine suddenly fell onto the patient. Mishrilal sustained critical injuries after being struck by the machine. The accident caused panic among the hospital staff. Family members and others present at the hospital immediately tried to save him, but he could not be saved.
Upon learning of Mishrilal’s death, his accompanying family members were overcome with anger. They accused the hospital staff of gross negligence, stating that the accident could have been avoided had the machine been installed correctly and patient safety prioritized.
