Passengers are being charged three times the fare in private Volvo buses

Hospice. During the tourist season i.e. Christmas and New Year, it is becoming difficult to travel from Dharamshala to Delhi and from Delhi to Dharamshala. Bus booking is not possible for the common man these days. The situation is that advance booking is done in HRTC buses and the rates of private Volvo buses range from three and a half to four thousand rupees per seat.

In such a situation, passengers are not able to get seats easily. Dozens of Volvo buses run every day from tourist cities Mcleodganj and Dharamshala to Delhi and Chandigarh. Booking of passengers to and from Dharamshala to Delhi and from Delhi to Dharamshala is done through many apps including Make My Trip.

Talking about Christmas, on December 26, the fare for private Volvo buses from Dharamshala to Delhi was between Rs 3,000 and Rs 3,500. Similarly, on New Year i.e. 1st January, the fare to go from Dharamshala to Delhi ranges from Rs 3800 to Rs 4505 in some buses. The fare charged in HRTC’s Volvo buses is only Rs 1321.

Due to smog in Punjab including Delhi, there is a doubt about whether the flight will arrive or not. In such a situation, these days most of the people prefer to travel in comfortable Volvo buses only. However, till now the smog has not affected the flights arriving at Kangra Airport.

These days the fare for tourists traveling by air ranges from Rs 16872 to Rs 13276. In such a situation, it becomes difficult to undertake an expensive journey. However, during the season, tourists coming from outside also prefer air travel. Air service companies also increase fares when demand increases.

DM Pankaj Chadda of Transport Corporation says that two Volvo, two Deluxe, one AC and three ordinary buses of Transport Corporation run for Delhi. The bus fare remains the same. If there is more booking during the season, the corporation also runs additional buses, so that the passengers can get convenience.
