Panchkula: Urban Local Bodies Minister Subhash Sudha today directed the officials of the local bodies to expedite the payment of dues and land allotment under the Mukhyamantri Shahri Nikaya Swamitva Yojana. He held a review meeting with the officials of the Urban Local Bodies Department in the city. He said that the department has been receiving complaints of poor performance of the officials during his visit to the respective cities. He was accompanied by UBL Secretary Vikas Gupta and ULB Director Yashpal Yadav. Sudha said that the department has opened an online portal for applications received under the Mukhyamantri Shahri Nikaya Swamitva Yojana, an initiative to grant ownership rights to shopkeepers occupying the local body land. “Eligible persons should be asked to deposit the requisite amount and land should be allotted to them,” he said. He said that the state has received a total of 5,872 applications under one roof, out of which 5,033 applicants have already deposited their payment. He said that about 48.08 lakh property identity cards have been generated in the state. “Of these, self-certified reports have been prepared for only 12.13 lakh,” he said. He also directed the concerned officials to expedite the work. He said the department has received data from various cities for inclusion of 2,223 irregular colonies into regular colonies. “So far, 741 colonies have been selected for regularisation,” he said. He directed the concerned officials to expedite and complete the departmental process for regularisation of the remaining colonies. The minister also asked the officials about the delay in the tender process for door-to-door garbage collection.
