Palestinian man killed by Israeli gunfire in West Bank

Ramallah: The Palestinian Health Ministry said a young man was killed by Israeli army fire in the northern West Bank city of Nablus. The ministry said in a press release that 18-year-old Nour Arafat died after being hit by a bullet in the al-Masaken al-Shaabiya area of ​​Nablus, in the chest, abdomen and shoulder, Xinhua news agency reported.
Local sources and eyewitnesses told Xinhua that clashes broke out after Israeli military forces raided the area in eastern Nablus, during which the soldiers opened fire.
Arafat, who was seriously injured in the clash, was later taken to a hospital where he was declared dead, the sources said. The Palestinian Ministry of Education and Higher Education on Monday issued a statement mourning the death of Arafat, who was a high school student.
There has been no comment from the Israeli military about the incident. More than 770 Palestinians have been killed in Israeli firing and bombing in the West Bank since October 7, 2023, according to the Palestinian Health Ministry.
