Pakistan needs a big win against Sri Lanka

Sports Sports: Sri Lanka and Pakistan will face each other on Saturday (February 28) in their final match of the Super 8 round of the T20 World Cup.

Sri Lanka has already been eliminated from the tournament, so this is a crucial match for Pakistan and New Zealand. If Pakistan wins this match by around 70 runs (if batting first), or within 10 to 11 overs (if chasing), the team will secure a place in the semi-finals. On the other hand, if they win by less than these margins, or lose, New Zealand will advance to the semi-finals. As for the Pakistan team, Sahibzada Farhan is the only strong batsman, having scored a total of 283 runs. Captain Salman Agha, Saim Ayub, and Babar Azam have not been as effective so far. This also puts pressure on Fakhar Zaman in the middle order. In bowling, Usman Tariq, who has taken 10 wickets so far, is a reliable player, supported by Shaheen Afridi, Saim Ayub, Abrar Ahmed, and others.

Sri Lanka, having lost their chance to reach the semi-finals, is looking to bid farewell with a win in their final match of the tournament at home.

The team’s batting stars include Padum Nissanka, Dasun Shanaka, Kusal Mendis, and Kusal Perera, while the bowling stars include Maheesh Theekshana, Madisha Pathirana, and Thunith Welalakere.
