Ambikapur. On Tuesday afternoon, a young man crossing the railway line in an inebriated condition at Vishrampur railway section got hit by the MEMU train going from Ambikapur to Shahdol. The young man died on the spot. The young man had left home to go to the shop. The incident took place in Jayanagar police station area. According to the information, Manohar Pando, a resident of Ajabnagar Rangpara, had left home on Tuesday under the influence of alcohol to go to the shop. He was crossing the railway track. While crossing the tracks, he was hit by MEMU train 08750 leaving from Ambikapur to Shahdol, due to which he died on the spot.
The young man suffered head injuries after being hit by the train, due to which he died on the spot. After the incident, the train stopped for some time, which the Railways sent to its destination after investigation. Kamalpur station traffic assistant Hemant Kumar informed the Jaynagar police station about the incident. Police reached the spot on information and handed over the body to the family members after conducting postmortem after Panchnama. Local people told the police that Manohar Pando had been drinking alcohol continuously for two days to celebrate the New Year. This afternoon he was in a highly intoxicated state. His father Puran Pando has already died. He lived in the house with other members.
