Raipur. To fulfill Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s guarantee of giving paddy bonus to the farmers, the Chhattisgarh government will distribute the outstanding two-year paddy bonus amount of Rs 3716 crore to the farmers of the state on December 25. All preparations regarding this have been completed. On the occasion of Good Governance Day, 25th December, the birth anniversary of former Prime Minister, Bharat Ratna Late Atal Bihari Vajpayee, the main ceremony of distribution of paddy bonus will be held in the chief hospitality of Chief Minister Vishnu Dev Sai from 1 pm at village Bendri of Abhanpur development block of Raipur district.
The said program organized by the Agriculture and Cooperation Department will be presided over by Deputy Chief Ministers Arun Sao and Vijay Sharma. Minister Brijmohan Aggarwal, MP Sunil Soni, former minister and MLA of Raipur West Rajesh Munat, MLA Abhanpur Inder Kumar Sahu, MLA of Raipur Rural Moti Lal Sahu, Arang MLA Khuswant Saheb, MLA of Raipur North Purandar Mishra, MLA Dharsimwa Anuj Sharma were present in the program. And President of District Panchayat Raipur Domeshwari Verma will be the special guest.
It is noteworthy that as per the promise made by Prime Minister Narendra Modi to the farmers of the state, the Chhattisgarh government has issued an order to purchase 21 quintals of paddy per acre from the farmers at the support price. Paddy procurement centers and societies have started issuing tokens to farmers for purchasing paddy as per the newly determined quantity. It is estimated that 130 lakh metric tonnes of paddy will be procured in the state this year. In lieu of paddy procurement at support price, about Rs 40 thousand crore will be paid to the farmers of the state.
In Chhattisgarh, by implementing Prime Minister Modi’s guarantee, procurement of 21 quintals of paddy has started from farmers at the rate of Rs 3100 per quintal. To ensure that farmers do not face any problem in selling paddy, better and adequate arrangements have been made in all the procurement centres. The Chief Minister has said that we are celebrating the birth anniversary of former Prime Minister, Bharat Ratna late Atal Bihari Vajpayee as Good Governance Day. On December 25, farmers of the state will be paid the outstanding bonus amount of Rs 3716 crore 38 lakh 96 thousand for 2 years of paddy. The Chief Minister has said that those farmers who have sold their paddy in the societies as per the pre-determined quantity, have also been given the facility to sell the difference of the newly prescribed quantity.
