Hyderabad (IANS) | Taking a strong objection to Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis’ ‘son of Aurangzeb’ remark, AIMIM President Asaduddin Owaisi asked him, who are the sons of Mahatma Gandhi’s killers Nathuram Godse and Narayan Apte. The Hyderabad MP pulled up Fadnavis for his remarks referring to the Kolhapur riots. Owaisi said, tell us who are the children of Godse and Apte?
He alleged that 30,000 RSS workers took to the streets after the alleged display of a picture of Tipu Sultan in Kolhapur. Addressing a public meeting in Hyderabad on Thursday night, Owaisi said, “It was not a picture of Tipu Sultan but of some Allah Wale and the local people explained this to the police.”
he asked, Maharashtra minister Deepak Kesarkar said 21 people were arrested for displaying the image of Tipu Sultan. Tell me which section of IPS says that you cannot keep Tipu Sultan’s picture.
The All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) president lashed out at the BJP and the Sangh Parivar for spreading hatred and defaming Islam and Muslims.
He also alleged that there is a conspiracy to create riots in Maharashtra before the Lok Sabha elections. He praised AIMIM MP from Aurangabad Imtiyaz Jaleel for standing in front of the temple for three hours to foil his designs to create communal trouble.
Referring to the list of 44 banned organizations in the First Schedule of UAPA, he challenged the BJP and the RSS to come up with a list of banned names such as Tipu Sultan, Aurangzeb, Babur, Khilji, Jahangir, Bahadur Shah Zafar and Quli Qutb Shah.
You also say that we will not include the names of Godse, Apte and Madanlal Pahwa in this list because they are dear to us, he said, referring to the killers of Mahatma Gandhi.
Owaisi said that 50 public meetings were held in Maharashtra in the name of Love Jihad to spread hatred. He said, do you know from where the love jihad started..?
Owaisi said tauntingly, we know your history.. I can give many such examples.
He also referred to the recent incident in which BJP MP Pragya Singh showed the film ‘The Kerala Story’ to a girl and the next day she eloped with her boyfriend. The AIMIM chief advised the BJP and the Sangh Parivar not to interfere in love affairs.
Owaisi condemned the action of the BJP government of Madhya Pradesh against Ganga Jamuna School for publishing an advertisement which depicts a Hindu girl with a ‘dupatta’ on her head.
The MP said that the Collector and SP of Damoh also found during investigation that the school was not forcing anyone to wear ‘hijab’. But their hatred towards Muslims and hijab is so much that the district BJP president threw ink on the district education officer because he told the truth in his report, he said.
He also referred to the suspension of Uttar Pradesh’s bus driver Krishanpal Singh and contract employee Mohit Yadav for stopping the bus for three minutes to allow two Muslims to offer namaz.
If offering prayers is a crime, then remove all religious symbols from government offices, he said.
