Our government fought a decisive battle against Naxalism in 11 months: CM Sai

Raipur. Raipur. A major review meeting on the Naxal scenario was held today at the Police Headquarters, Nava Raipur under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Vishnudev Sai. Senior officials of the state including Deputy Chief Minister and Home Minister Vijay Sharma were present on the occasion. The evaluation of efforts to eradicate Naxalism and future strategies were discussed in the meeting. Chief Minister Vishnudev Sai said in the meeting that our government has fought a decisive battle against Naxalism in 11 months. Referring to the Union Home Minister’s resolve to end Naxalism by March 2026, he said that we have to prepare effective strategies in the same direction. The Chief Minister said that there is a need to further intensify the public awareness campaign for Naxal surrender. The people of Bastar region now want to get rid of Naxalism and move towards development, a glimpse of which was also seen in the recently concluded Bastar Olympics. He directed to complete the construction work of 15,000 houses for surrendered Naxalites and Naxal-affected families under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana soon. The Chief Minister expressed confidence that Chhattisgarh will soon be Naxal-free with collective efforts and public participation. The priority of the government is to improve the living standards of local communities and achieve new heights of development. In the meeting, Deputy Chief Minister and Home Minister Vijay Sharma said that the state government is taking concrete action to end Naxalism. He emphasized on connecting the civil society with the campaign and accelerating the efforts being made for the surrender of Naxalites. Mr. Sharma emphasized the need to break the financial network of Naxalites and said that every possible measure would be taken to achieve the goal. In the meeting, topics including expansion of security grid, setting up new camps in Naxal-affected areas, rehabilitation and housing schemes for surrendered Naxalites and joint action plan were discussed. Director General of Police Ashok Juneja, Additional Chief Secretary Home Manoj Pinguwa, Additional Director General of Police Pradeep Gupta, SRP Kalluri, Vivekanand Sinha, Amit Kumar, Secretary to Chief Minister Rahul Bhagat, Secretary Home Neha Champawat Himshikhar Gupta and other officials were present in the meeting.
