On 8 years of ‘Dil Dhadakne Do’, Shefali narrated the story of the emotional cake scene

Mumbai (IANS) | Actress Shefali Shah, who is celebrating the eighth anniversary of her film ‘Dil Dhadakne Do’, has shared that she enacted her own way for the film’s famous cake scene where she eats a piece of cake. Elaborating on the scene and sharing how it has been relatable to many, Shefali said: It is such a powerful moment. So many people have come up to me and told me they’ve done it. I was called a day before and asked what I would like to eat, as we were going to shoot it the next day.

Directed by Zoya Akhtar, ‘Dil Dhadakne Do’ also starred Ranveer Singh, Farhan Akhtar, Priyanka Chopra, Anil Kapoor and Anushka Sharma.

The film tells the story of Kamal, played by Anil, and Neelam, played by Shefali, who invite their family and friends on a cruise to mark their 30th anniversary. However, along the way, they learn many life lessons.

Shefali recently told Kareena Kapoor on her chat show, when we were shooting for that scene, she gave me baklava (pastry) as a substitute. I don’t like dry cakes, so I insisted on chocolate syrup, not because I like the taste.

Shefali Shah worked in films like ‘Human’, ‘Darlings’, ‘Jalsa’, ‘Doctor Ji’ and ‘Delhi Crime 2’. The year 2022 was his great year. He is now gearing up for the much awaited third season of his International Emmy winning show ‘Delhi Crime’.
