The arrest took place at Rajmahal Chak in Bhubaneswar. Vigilance officials stated that the money was demanded in exchange for allowing the vendor to operate his business without interference.

Bribe Money Recovered and Seized

According to a Vigilance press release, the entire amount of ₹40,000 was recovered from the accused officer and seized on the spot. This action was taken after the complainant repeatedly accused the agency of demanding illegal bribes.

Search Continues on the Disproportionate Assets Angle
