Bhubaneswar: Vigilance has arrested an Additional Civil Supplies Officer in Odisha’s Ganjam district for having properties of 139% higher than his known sources of income.
On the complaint of disproportionate assets, the Vigilance officials conducted a raid on the properties of Sanjay Kumar Sahu, Additional Civil Supplies Officer of Bhanjanagar in the district. During house searches, the following movable and immovable assets were unearthed in the name of Sahu and his family members:
1) 3-BHK Flat No.601, 6th floor, Khetrabasi Residency and K&K-Plaza, Patia-22, Bhubaneswar.
2) 3-BHK Flat No.304, Block-G at De-Habitat-2, Shree Vihar, Chandrasekharpur, Bhubaneswar.
3) One building at Housing board, Chandrasekharpur, Bhubaneswar.
4) 3 Plots in and around, Bhubaneswar.
5) Bank, Postal and Insurance deposits of over Rs 21.57 lakh.
6) Gold jewellery of 200 gm.
7) 1 four-wheeler worth Rs 13.19 lakh.
8) 2 two-wheelers and household articles worth approximately Rs 8 lakh.
After thorough search, inventory and further enquiry, the income, expenditure and assets of Sahu were calculated and he was found in possession of disproportionate assets which were 139% higher than his known sources of income.
As Sahu could not account for his assets satisfactorily, he was arrested by Vigilance and forwarded to the court for possession of disproportionate properties. In this connection, Cuttack Vigilance filed a case against Sahu under PC Amendment Act, 2018.
