To reinforce grassroots security arrangements, the Odisha government has announced an increase in financial support for grama rakshis, who assist police in maintaining law and order across rural areas of the state.
Under the revised framework, the monthly allowance for grama rakshis has been raised from ₹1,800 to ₹2,500, marking a significant enhancement in remuneration. The move is aimed at easing financial pressure on village-level security volunteers while strengthening their engagement with local law enforcement.
