Bhubaneswar: Odisha Governor and the chancellor of state universities Dr. Hari Babu Kambhampati appointed Professor Jagneshwar Dandapat as in-charge Vice-Chancellor (VC) of Utkal University in Bhubaneswar on Tuesday.
The Governor’s House issued a notification over the appointed of Dandapat as the in-charge Vice-Chancellor of Utkal University with immediate effect.
As per the official notification, Dandapat, who is currently heading the Department of Biotechnology at Utkal University, will continue to be in-charge VC of the University until a permanent replacement is appointed.
“Chancellor, Utkal University, Bhubaneswar has been pleased to appoint Prof Jagneshwar Dandapat, Professor in Biotechnology, Utkal University, Bhubaneswar as the In-charge Vice-Chancellor of Utkal University for the time being with immediate effect till joining of a new Vice-Chancellor in the University or until further orders, whichever is earlier,” read the official notification.
Notably, Prof. Dandapat has been serving as the HOD of the Biotechnology Department since June 2020.
