Bhubaneswar: Odisha Government has ordered the concerned departments and officials to implement the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 as issued by the Ministry of Education (MoE), Government of India, informed the School & Mass Education Department today.
The Odisha said that it is implementing the National Education Policy 2020 from the 2024-25 academic session with the aim to strengthen the educational system of the State with special emphasis on research, innovation, and practical learning.
The NEP 2020 also focuses on skill development through industry internships, ensuring that educational programs align with employment opportunities and the demands of the job market.
The Department issued a notification which said, “After careful consideration, in the interest of strengthening the educational system in the State, the Government is pleased to order that the National Education Policy 2020, as issued by the Ministry of Education (MoE), Government of India, will be implemented in the State of Odisha.”
“The Government is further pleased to order that the National Curriculum Framework, with local contextualization, will be adopted as the State Curriculum Framework for the State of Odisha,” it added.
Sources said that a detailed guideline for implementation of National Education Policy 2020 in Odisha will be issued at earliest possible time.
