New Delhi/Bhubaneswar: Odisha CM Mohan Majhi met the West Bengal CM Mamata Banerjee in Delhi and discussed the issue of potato supply. The information about the meet was provided by the Chief Minister on this verified X (Formerly Twitter) handle.
Both the Chief Ministers of Odisha and West Bengal are currently in Delhi for the NITI Aayog meeting on Saturday, said reports.
The Odisha CM tweeted in Odia which roughly translates as, “Met the Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee and discussed the problem of potato supply in the state. Now the process of bringing potato from West Bengal to Odisha has been regularized.”
The CM further wrote, “To resolve this temporary issue, the Food Supplies Minister has reviewed the situation in the godown and taken a stock of the matter.” He also wrote that, “The state government is taking necessary steps to control potato prices and solve the supply problem as soon as possible.”
The consumers have expressed their utter dismay on the skyrocketing prices of these common household vegetables, especially potatoes. The people whose earning is below the income threshold and middle class families have been badly affected due to rising cost of living.
