Odisha: The Odisha government in Bhubaneswar has taken serious action, taking the recent mob lynching case seriously. During a high-level meeting held at the Lok Seva Bhavan, Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi ordered a Crime Branch investigation into the incident.
The meeting, chaired by the Chief Minister, detailed a review of the state’s law and order situation. The alleged mob lynching incident in Balianta, on the outskirts of Bhubaneswar, was specifically discussed. After reviewing all aspects of the incident, the Chief Minister directed the investigating agency to conduct a fair and thorough investigation.
The Chief Minister clearly directed that the investigation into the case must be completely impartial and free from any bias. He stated that strict action will be taken against anyone found guilty, sending a strong message about the rule of law.
According to government sources, the Chief Minister also stated that such incidents pose a serious challenge to the state’s law and order and will not be tolerated under any circumstances. He directed officials to expedite the investigation and bring the culprits to justice as soon as possible.
During the meeting, the Chief Minister also issued strict instructions to the state’s Director General of Police, Y. B. Khurania. He stated that law and order should be closely monitored throughout the state and that the police must remain vigilant to prevent any untoward incident.
The Chief Minister also emphasized that the police must remain active on the ground and ensure law enforcement. He stated that maintaining public trust is the primary responsibility of the police and administration, and that strict measures should not be shied away from.
The state government has clarified that surveillance will be strengthened to prevent such incidents in the future. Instructions have also been given to increase police patrols in sensitive areas and activate the intelligence network.
Following this incident, discussions have intensified regarding security and law and order in the state. The administration states that given the seriousness of the matter, any negligence in the investigation will not be tolerated.
The Crime Branch has currently launched a preliminary investigation into the case and is collecting evidence from relevant areas. The government has assured that strict legal action will be taken against the culprits.
