Odisha: Car crashes into tree in midnight accident in Koraput; two dead.

Odisha: On Thursday, at least two youths lost their lives after a car crashed into a roadside mango tree on the Nandpur-Padua main road in Odisha’s Koraput district. The deceased have been identified as Lab Khara, a resident of Golur village, and Ananta Pangi from Khudub village. According to preliminary reports, the car was traveling from Nandpur towards Padua when the driver allegedly lost control of the vehicle. The car veered off the road and slammed into a mango tree with a violent impact. The collision was so severe that the vehicle was badly mangled, trapping the occupants inside the wreckage.

Both Victims Died at the Health Center

Upon receiving the information, a team from the Nandpur Fire Services—led by Assistant Station Officer Hemanta Kumar Samal and comprising other personnel, including Prakash Kisan—immediately rushed to the accident site. The rescue team had to break the vehicle’s windows and dismantle parts of the car to extricate the victims, who were found to be in critical condition. The injured were immediately transported to the Nandpur Community Health Center in a fire tender for emergency medical treatment. However, despite the efforts of the medical staff, both victims were declared dead upon arrival at the hospital.

The police have initiated an investigation to ascertain the exact causes of the accident. Preliminary indications suggest that high speed or a loss of control over the vehicle may have been the cause of the crash, although a detailed inquiry is still underway. As news of these tragic deaths spread, a wave of grief swept across the entire locality.
