Hamirpur. In order to make common people aware about the inclusion of all nutrients in the daily diet, nutrition exhibitions were organized in various Anganwadi centers under Child Development Project Sujanpur on the topic ‘When diet is colourful, health is excellent’.
During interaction with women on this occasion, Child Development Project Officer Kuldeep Singh Chauhan told that breakfast is the most important food in the diet of the day. Therefore, there should be Satranga diet i.e. balanced diet in the breakfast plate. Such a diet paves the way for the expected increase in the immunity of the body by supplying the various elements desired by the human body. Child Development Project Officer said that our digestive fire works like the Sun. It starts increasing in the morning, reaches its highest level in the afternoon and relaxes till night. That’s why our body easily digests morning and afternoon meals.
He told that coarse grains are very beneficial in the midday meal. We can strengthen our health even by taking only tricolor salad at night. Our body also produces harmful substances called free radicals during the digestion process which harm our body by increasing the rate of oxidation and accelerates the signs of ageing. The antioxidant substances present in orange, red, yellow and purple fruits eliminate free radicals and eliminate their side effects. The Child Development Project Officer said that the abundant phytochemicals available in coarse grains are also full of antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties and form the basis of the body’s immunity. That’s why we should take special care of including all the nutrients in our diet.
