The Forest Department has been under suspicion regarding the number of tigers in Achanakmar. Tourists visiting here often do not see tigers at all. But this time the forest department has claimed the presence of tigers through pictures captured in trap cameras. According to this, the picture of a female tigress named AKT 2 has been captured on camera on 16 February, 3 March, 26 March, 10 May and 27 May.
Another female AKT 8 was observed on 5 February, 26 February, 5 March, 12 May and 19 February. Male tiger AKT 9 has been seen on camera on 26 February, 17 February, 20 February, 1 April and 25 May. Female AKT 13 seen on camera on 25 February. Female AKT 114 were caught on camera on 3 March, 11 May, 14 May and 16 February. Male AKT 5 was caught on camera on 6 December and female AKT 16 on 29 May. AKT female 17 has been caught on camera on 6th June and 11th June. Apart from these, a Tiger T100 of Kanha Sanctuary also comes here to wander continuously, which has been captured on camera many times.
