Raipur. The problem of Naxalism in the Bastar region of Chhattisgarh remained the biggest obstacle in the path of development and peace for decades. But now the picture is changing. With the joint efforts of the state government and the central security forces, a decisive battle is going on against the Naxalites in Dantewada, Bijapur and surrounding areas, the effect of which is clearly visible on the ground. A major reason for this change is development schemes like ‘Niyad Nella Nar’, which have worked as a strong link of trust between the people and the government.
Since 1977, no government had taken the Naxalite problem seriously, due to which the Naxalite problem was deepening day by day in tribal areas like Bastar where there is invaluable forest wealth, which kept affecting the rural populations, but the Modi government at the Center, taking the Naxalite problem seriously, has taken up the task of eliminating the Naxalite problem in collaboration with the state government, which is a commendable step and taking a serious aim as well as making a target, a subject to work on the target, the Vishnudev government of Chhattisgarh, under the leadership of the Home Minister of the country, Amit Shah, has done it in the last one and a half years and the mission target is to eliminate the Naxalite problems before March in the coming 2026, which the government has taken as a challenge, the way the action is going on and the encounter is going on, the state government is seriously working day and night to solve the Naxalite problem, its result is hopeful and seems to be fulfilling the target. Biggest encounter: 31 Naxalites killed, 210 bunkers destroyed
Recently, the security forces carried out the biggest operation till date on the border of Dantewada and Bijapur districts. A total of 31 hardcore Naxalites were killed in this operation, on whom a total reward of Rs 1.72 crore was declared. Also, more than 210 Naxalite bunkers were destroyed in this operation. Chief Minister honors brave soldiers
After this successful operation, Chief Minister Vishnudev Sai visited the remote village Galgam in Bijapur district and met the security forces involved in this operation. What is ‘Niyad Nella Nar’ scheme? Our good village
In Gondi language, ‘Niyad Nella Nar’ means – ‘Our good village’. This scheme is being implemented by the Chhattisgarh government in those areas where the government did not have direct access for a long time due to Naxalites. The aim of this scheme is to convert security camps in Naxal-affected areas into facilitation centers and provide basic amenities like health, education, electricity, water, roads and ration to the villagers. By combining security and service together, this scheme has given rise to a new social structure in Naxal-affected areas, in which the participation of citizens has increased and the trust in the government has strengthened.
Wave of surrender: 26 hardcore Naxalites gave up arms
Due to the government’s rehabilitation policy-2025 and pressure from the security forces, an atmosphere of fear prevails among the Naxalites. The result of this is that recently 26 hardcore Naxalites surrendered in Dantewada, many of whom had rewards of lakhs of rupees on their heads. These surrendered Naxalites are being given financial assistance, agricultural land, houses, and self-employment facilities by the government under rehabilitation.
