On Wednesday, seven candidates contesting the Lok Sabha elections from Sirsa constituency were issued notices by District Election Officer RK Singh for failing to meet the May 13 deadline of filing their expenditure details.
Expenditure supervisor Vijay Singh said that for the first phase, candidates had to submit their details by May 13. However, seven out of 19 failed to do so. Those who received notices include Leeluram Askheda from Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP), Rajendra Kumar from Bharatiya Asha Party, Dharampal from Loktantrik Lok Rajya Party and independent candidates Naveen Kumar Commando, Satpal Ladwal, Karnail Singh Odhan and Sukhdev Singh Sandhu. Vijay said that as per the instructions of the Election Commission, candidates can spend up to Rs 95 lakh to contest the Lok Sabha elections.
