Nothing has launched the Phone (2a) Plus in India at a starting price of Rs 27,999 for the 8GB + 256GB variant. The top-spec variant i.e. 12GB + 256 GB variant costs Rs 29,999. Both variants will be available on the e-commerce platform Flipkart from August 7. The company is expected to make the device available in the offline market in September.
Well, for those who are unknown, the Phone (2a) Plus is an upgrade to the Phone (2a) which is already a hit among the masses. The Phone (2a) Plus gets more improved chipset and attractive colours. The device gets a Dimensity 7350 Plus SoC and it is an overclocked version of the Dimensity 7200 Pro SoC that is present in the Phone (2a).
The new chipset is an octa-core processor that offers 2x Cortex-A715 cores clocked at 3.0 GHz and 6x Cortex-A510 units @ 2.0 GHz. The GPU remains the same Mali-G610 MC4 unit but now runs at 1.3 GHz. The company claims that we can expect 10% faster CPU performance and 30% bump in GPU-intensive tasks.
Speaking about the camera, the Phone (2a) Plus offers 50MP front camera against 32MP on the Phone (2a). The camera is placed in the punch-hole cutout. We get a 6.7-inch AMOLED screen that offers a refresh rate of 120Hz. At the rear of the device we get a 50MP (24mm) primary camera and 50MP ultrawide lens.
On the battery front, we get a massive 5000mAh unit that supports 50W wired charging support. This is a slight upgrade when we compare it to the Phone (2a)’s 45W charging support. Like the other Nothing smartphones, we do not get a charger bundled with the device. The device offers Nothing OS 2.6 based on Android 14 out of the box. Users get ChatGPT integration along with new News Reporter Widget on the device.
