Lucknow: Nomination for the second phase of Lok Sabha elections in Uttar Pradesh will begin from Thursday. Voting is to be held on eight Lok Sabha seats in this phase. The last date for nomination for the second phase is April 4. Scrutiny will take place on April 5. Names can be withdrawn till 3 pm on April 8. Voting will take place on 26 April. In the second phase, elections will be held in Amroha, Meerut, Baghpat, Ghaziabad, Gautam Buddha Nagar, Aligarh, Bulandshahr (SC) and Mathura Lok Sabha constituencies. According to UP Chief Electoral Officer Navdeep Rinwa, the number of voters on these seats is 1.67 crore. Of these, 90.11 lakh are male, 77.38 lakh are female and 787 are voters of the third gender. There will be 7,797 polling centers and 17,677 polling booths in the second phase. Meanwhile, 201 candidates have filed nominations for the first phase in Uttar Pradesh. The first phase of voting will take place on April 19.
