No government can be formed in Tamil Nadu without the support of national parties: Karti Chidambaram

Tamil Nadu : Sivaganga Lok Sabha MP Karti Chidambaram said that no one can form a government in Tamil Nadu without the support of national parties. Speaking to reporters on Tuesday, he said that the Congress party is strong enough to face the 2026 assembly elections in Tamil Nadu. Similarly, as far as the political situation in Tamil Nadu is concerned, the DMK alliance is strong. However, AIADMK workers themselves do not want AIADMK to form an alliance with the BJP. There is nothing wrong in putting up posters here and there that the Congress party will get a share in power and the post of Deputy Chief Minister. All parties have a desire to come to power. It is not possible to say whether the Congress party will win more seats or not based on the number of seats the BJP will get in the AIADMK alliance in Tamil Nadu. The Congress is in a strange position as it is neither the ruling party nor the opposition party in Tamil Nadu. The situation in Tamil Nadu is such that no one can form a government without the support of national parties. P. Chidambaram’s comment on ‘Indy’ alliance has been misunderstood. He said that since the BJP is strong, the ‘Indy’ alliance also needs strength to counter them. Former member of Legislative Council M.N. Kandasamy, Tamil Nadu Congress Committee general secretary Saravanakumar, Coimbatore district INTUC president Kovai Selvam, working president R.M. Palaniswami and national media coordinator Hariharasuthan were present during the interview.
