Vijayawada: National Institute of Technical Teachers Training and Research (NITTTR), Chennai recently hosted a six-day transformative Faculty Development Program (FDP) at SRM University-AP. The FDP has been prepared for polytechnic teachers across the state. This initiative is aligned with NITTTR’s recent educational reforms, especially the reform in their curriculum.
Special guests including C Nagarani, Director of Technical Education, Prof Manoj K Arora, Vice-Chancellor, SRM University-AP and Prof CR Nagendra Rao, Distinguished Professor, NITTTR, Chennai, along with other senior members of the fraternity, spoke on the occasion.
Professor Arora urged teachers to rise above the traditional role of a teacher. “Don’t take teaching as just a job, a teacher is no longer just a teacher, he is a facilitator and mentor.” He stressed the importance of collaborative learning and encouraged teachers to work together with students.
He extended the University’s support to the delegates to utilize the services of the University’s Center for Teaching and Learning, a platform that prepares faculty and students to enhance the pedagogy of teaching and learning. Technical Education Commissioner Nagrani in his address expressed the need to consider this. Youth are symbols of energy and hope of the nation.
