Nitish accepted the mistake on the collapse of the under-construction bridge in Bihar, said – it was not being built properly

Patna (IANS) | Chief Minister Nitish Kumar has also accepted the fault of the department after three pillars and four super structures of the four-lane Mahasetu being built on the river Ganga between Agawani and Sultanganj in Khagaria in Bihar got submerged in the river. He clearly said on Monday that it was not being built properly, that’s why it is falling down. During a discussion with journalists in Patna, in response to a question regarding bridge collapse, the Chief Minister said that what happened in Bhagalpur happened some time back as well. At the same time we said why this happened.

He said that the bridge has collapsed again on Sunday. Describing it as painful, he said that immediately after the news of the collapse of the bridge, we told all the officers of the department to go and see and take immediate action.

He said in a clear tone, this is not the way, by now its construction work should have been completed. If it had happened on time then why would such news come. We have suffered a lot.

The Chief Minister further said, the bridge is not being constructed properly and that is why it is collapsing. If it had been made properly, how would it have fallen. People would have been so happy if it was ready on time.

On Sunday evening, three pillars and four super structures of the four-lane Mahasetu being built on the river Ganga between Agawani and Sultanganj of Khagaria in Bihar collapsed and entered the river.
