Nirmal: Three minor boys were arrested on Sunday for the murder of a youth from Nizamabad district. Superintendent of Police Dr Janaki Sharmila said the three minor boys aged between 15 and 17 years worked at different fast-food centres and were from different areas of Basar. They were caught loitering suspiciously at a railway station in the city. They were detained for their alleged involvement in the murder of Arjun (20), a driver from Fakirabad in Nizamabad district. Arjun was found dead at Saradanagar in Basar on June 1. During investigation, the trio confessed to the crime.
Arjun, in an inebriated state, abused the trio when they refused to give him a lift on his motorcycle. The trio admitted to taking the youth to a secluded spot and killing him by hitting him with a stone. They later burnt the body to destroy evidence. The SP said a team led by Bhainsa ASP Avinash Kumar, comprising Mudhol Inspector G Mallesh and Basar Sub-Inspector K Ganesh began investigating the murder. They initially identified the body and then collected call data records (CDR) of their mobile phones and found that three boys were involved in the murder.
