Nirmal: Person arrested for smuggling 250 quintals of PDS rice

Nirmal: A person was arrested from a truck on Monday on charges of smuggling rice grains to be sent for the public distribution system in Degaon village of Bhainsa mandal. They seized up to 250 quintals of rice and the truck. Bhainsa rural sub-inspector K Srikant said Sheikh Moiz of Nizamabad was arrested while transporting grains from Nizamabad to Bhainsa following a track. According to reports, the driver of the vehicle, Moiz, has confessed to smuggling grains from Telangana to Maharashtra. The accused and the rice were handed over to Hacienda authorities for additional measures.
