NIA attaches property of jailed separatist Hurriyat leader

Srinagar (IANS) | The National Investigation Agency (NIA) on Tuesday attached the assets of separatist Hurriyat leader Ayaz Akbar, lodged in Jammu and Kashmir’s Srinagar jail. NIA sources said armed with the order of Delhi’s Patiala House Court, agency officials attached Akbar’s property in Shalteng area of the district.

The notices have been put up on the attached properties to inform the general public, sources said.

Akbar is in jail for the last six years.

The NIA had attached the property of Zahoor Ahmad Watali in Kupwara district on Monday.
