Srinagar Srinagar, The Federation of Chambers of Industries Kashmir (FCIK) on Tuesday announced the formal induction of 26 elected presidents from various industrial estates and districts of the unorganised sector into its newly constituted advisory committee. The committee has been constituted following a resolution passed in the extraordinary general body meeting of the FCIK held on May 4, 2025, a statement said. According to the resolution, the advisory committee has been entrusted with the task of overseeing the functioning of the federation and ensuring continuity until fresh elections are held. The committee, consisting of representatives from both industrial estates and district-level unorganised sectors, will function as the highest interim decision-making body of the FCIK. It has also been empowered to constitute an independent election commission to hold fresh elections within two months. These elections will be held in accordance with the FCIK constitution and under internal and external monitoring, including the government.
In their individual ‘Statements of Acceptance and Commitment’, the newly appointed Advisory Committee members have expressed their heartfelt gratitude to the General Assembly for the trust placed in them and pledged to uphold the values, integrity and mission of the organisation in full compliance with the FCIK Constitution. They have also pledged to safeguard the assets, interests and financial resources of the federation while acting as responsible custodians in the best interest of FCIK and its stakeholders. The Presidents who joined the new Advisory Committee on Tuesday include Syed Fazal Ilahi (I/E Baghi Ali Mardan Khan), Imran Murtaza (I/E Khunmoh), Mohammad Ashraf Khan (I/E Baramulla), Javed Ahmad Bhat (I/E Sopore), Sheikh Nisar Ahmad (IGC Lassipora), Iftikhar Hussain Misgar (I/E Anantnag), Afaq Qadiri (I/E SP Zakura) Farooq Ahmad Ansari (I/E).

Some additional members from the remaining estates and districts are expected to join the Advisory Committee soon. “The Advisory Committee will meet in the coming days to chalk out its strategic framework and begin the process of appointing a new Election Commission,” the FCIK statement said.
