New works worth Rs 9.71 crore inaugurated in Royapuram zone: Minister PK Sekhar Babu

Tamil Nadu: Minister of Hindu Religious Affairs and Endowments and Chairman of the Chennai Metropolitan Development Authority, P.K. Sekhar Babu, inaugurated new projects worth ₹9.71 crore in the Royapuram Zone of the Chennai Corporation on Thursday.

The Minister inaugurated the construction of safety structures around power transformers in 60 lanes of Wards 54 to 59, Dada Muthayyappan Street, Prakasam Road, Royapuram Zone, at a cost of ₹4.80 crore from the Corporation’s capital fund.

In addition, the Chennai Corporation is beautifying the area under the MRTS railway flyover on Swami Sivananda Road, Omanthurai Royal Gardens, at a cost of ₹4.91 crore. He laid the foundation stone for these works.

The Minister then inquired about the development works, including a private skating area at the base of the MRTS railway overpass, sports equipment including swings, and basic amenities, and advised them to expedite the work.

The event was attended by Central Chennai Lok Sabha Member Dayanidhi Maran, Mayor R. Priya and North Zone Deputy Commissioner Katta Ravi Teja attended.
