Users can now make voice and video calls directly via a web browser (WhatsApp Web) without needing a separate app. Additionally, a call transfer feature will be available, allowing conversations to be easily shifted from one device to another.
This new update will be particularly beneficial for users who frequently use WhatsApp while working in an office or on a laptop.
Make voice and video calls directly from the browser
Until now, WhatsApp Web supported chatting and file sharing, but the desktop app was required for calling. With the new update, users can initiate voice and video calls directly from their web browsers.
This eliminates the need to download separate software and makes the calling experience more convenient.
Call transfer feature offers an improved experience
WhatsApp has also added a call transfer feature. If a user is on a call on one device and wishes to continue it on another, they can transfer the call without redialing.
This feature will be especially useful when a user wants to switch from mobile to laptop or vice versa.
