New Parliament House controversy: Akhilesh said, ‘BJP has accepted that now the time has come to hand over power’

Lucknow (IANS) | There has been a continuous political ruckus regarding the inauguration of the new Parliament House. Meanwhile, SP chief Akhilesh Yadav has again commented on this issue. Said that the BJP has accepted that the time has come to hand over the power.

Former Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav posted a picture on his tweet table saying that Sengol is a symbol of transfer of power (from one hand to another). The BJP seems to have accepted that the time has come to hand over the power.

Earlier, he had written that the true parliamentary tradition is to give equal opportunity to everyone to hear and understand, not by the ostentatious inauguration of Parliament by the BJP people, but by understanding the basic spirit of the verses written there. Where there is pride of power but there is no respect for the opposition, it cannot be a true parliament, what is the point in its inauguration.

SP leader Swami Prasad Maurya raised questions regarding the installation of Sengol in the new Parliament House. He described Sengol as the symbol of monarchy. It is said that India is a democratic country, in such a situation, what will be the work of Sengol in the Parliament of the country.

He tweeted that the Sengol scepter was a symbol of monarchy. Today there is democracy in the country, what is the use of Sengol, the symbol of monarchy in a democracy? BJP government’s craze towards Sengol is proof that it does not believe in democracy, so BJP is moving away from democracy to monarchy, which is a danger bell for democracy.

Significantly, questions are being raised on not inviting the President to the inauguration ceremony of the new Parliament House. Leaders say that instead of inaugurating the building by Draupadi Murmu, PM Modi is an insult to the President. That’s why one after the other political parties are boycotting the function.
