New Delhi: Delhi Police arrested a man and a woman and detained three minors in connection with the alleged gang rape of a 12-year-old girl, who was lured by the woman to an isolated place in Sadar Bazaar area. . , , , , an official said on Sunday.
The incident is of January 1st. The accused have been identified as Suresh Kumar, 38, a tea seller from Sadar Bazaar area of North Delhi and a woman living in the same area. Three minor prisoners aged 12, 14 and 15 also work at that post.
According to the police, the victim, a resident of Bawana, works in recycling. She knew the accused woman, who earlier lived in Bawana and also worked as a garbage collector.
On January 1, when the victim was found alone in the area, the accused woman approached her.
The incident came to light on Thursday, when the victim contacted the police, who immediately registered a case under section 376D (group violation) and other sections of the Indian Penal Code.
The accused woman had allegedly threatened the victim to keep quiet. After the attack on January 1, the girl started cleaning work and caught a train to Bawana. According to reports, he remained silent for the next two days.
“On Thursday, he returned to Sadar Bazaar to collect garbage and first met a resident of the same area, to whom he confided,” the officer said.
He first informed the child’s parents and both the employees about the incident. Later everyone reached the commissionerate, where the girl narrated her shameful ordeal to the police.
According to sources, accused Kumar had asked the woman to find a girl for his “New Year celebrations”.
