Gurugram (IANS) | 57-year-old Pujari Ajit Singh alias Joker Nath alias Pujari and his two accomplices have been arrested for the murder of a Nepali youth. Gurugram Police gave this information on Friday. The deceased has been identified as 24-year-old Dinesh alias Raju. Pujari’s accomplices in his murder are Sonu alias Seela (27) and Premjit alias Sonu Balhara (32).
According to the police, the incident took place on Wednesday when 2-3 fingers of the idol were damaged by Dinesh while cleaning the idol at a temple in Khandsa village.
Mahesh, a native of Uttar Pradesh’s Mathura, who is also an eyewitness in the case, informed the police about the incident. After that, the body of the deceased was recovered from the temple premises on Thursday afternoon.
The complainant Mahesh told the police that he along with his co-workers had been getting tiles installed in the temple for the last few days.
He told the police, “On Wednesday a person came to the temple and started cleaning the idols. During this the fingers of an idol were broken. The sweeper informed the priest, who got angry and started beating him with a stick. The priest called two other people nearby. The trio tied the man to a banyan tree and started beating him badly. When I reached the temple on Thursday afternoon, the man was dead.
ACP (Crime) Preet Pal Sangwan said, the accused have confessed to their involvement in the crime. Based on the complaint given by Mahesh, an FIR has been registered against the accused under IPC sections 302 (murder) and 34 at Sector 10A police station in Gurugram.
