Delhi. Maximum number of Indian tourists visited Nepal in the month of February. India tops the list of foreign tourists visiting Nepal. According to the news agency, Nepal Tourism Board (NTB) said on Saturday that a total of 97426 tourists came to Nepal in the month of February last. Of these, 25578 were from India. After this, 9180 tourists from China and 9089 tourists from America visited the country. After this, Thailand was at fourth place, from where the number of tourists going to Nepal was 4,799. While UK and Bangladesh are at fifth and sixth position in the list with 4,571 and 4,099 tourists respectively. According to NTB Director Mani Lamichhane, more than 25,000 Indians visited Nepal in February. He said the actual number is much higher because a large number of tourists from India came to Nepal by road. In January, 18,041 tourists from India visited Nepal.
The number of tourists coming to Nepal by air in February is 33 percent more than February 2023, in which 73,255 tourists came. Compared to 2019, it was 95.12 percent in the pre-Covid period. According to NTB, the number of tourists visiting Nepal in February 2019 was 1,02,423. The minister said that we have designed Amrit Bharat train, which is a world class train. Through this, a journey of 1,000 kilometers can be done at a cost of only Rs 454. Vaishnav said India will manufacture at least 1,000 new generation Amrit Bharat trains in the coming years and work is underway to manufacture a train capable of running at a speed of 250 km per hour. He gave details of the total annual expenditure of Railways. He said expenditure on pensions, salaries, energy expenditure and lease-interest payments stood at Rs 55,000 crore, Rs 97,000 crore, Rs 40,000 crore and Rs 32,000 crore respectively.
