NCP Leaders Meet CM Fadnavis, Stake Claim to Ajit Pawar’s Portfolios

Mumbai: Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) leaders met Maharashtra CM Devendra Fadnavis. They discussed the portfolios of Deputy CM Ajit Pawar, who died in a plane crash. They said that their party has the right to the ministerial portfolios held by him. On Friday, senior NCP leaders Praful Patel, Sunil Tatkare and Chhagan Bhujbal went to CM Fadnavis’ official residence. They demanded that all the ministries, including the key finance, state excise and sports departments held by Ajit Pawar, continue under the NCP quota. A letter was submitted to this effect.

Meanwhile, after a meeting with CM Devendra Fadnavis, key NCP leader Praful Patel spoke to the media. He said that they are partners in the Mahayuti alliance government. He said that he has asked Fadnavis to take the right decision to fill the positions held by Ajit Pawar as soon as possible.

On the other hand, Praful Patel said that the party as well as the people’s sentiments should be taken into account before taking any decision. “We should give some time to Ajit Pawar’s family to recover from the grief. We will soon discuss the future course of action of the party with Sunetra Pawar and other family members,” he said.
