Naxalites fled in police-Naxal encounter, goods recovered

Dantewada. There has been an encounter between police and Naxalites on the border of Dantewada-Bijapur district in Chhattisgarh. There was firing at two different places with Naxalites of Gangalur Area Committee. Seeing the soldiers being overwhelmed, the Naxalites have fled from the spot. However, the soldiers have demolished the Naxalite camp. The soldiers returned on Thursday after 3 days of operation. Actually, the police had received information from the informer that a large number of Naxalites are present in the forests of Itawar and Pedia. On which on February 20, DRG, STF, Cobra battalion soldiers were evacuated from Bijapur and Dantewada districts for the spot. When the soldiers reached the forest of this area, the Naxalites who were already ambushed here opened fire on the soldiers.

There was heavy firing from both sides. Seeing the soldiers being overwhelmed, the Naxalites fled from the spot. When the soldiers were returning after the operation, the Naxalites again opened fire on the soldiers between Lendra-Korcholi. Here also the soldiers responded to the Naxalites’ bullets. After which the Naxalites fled from the spot. Then the soldiers destroyed the Naxalite camp. A large quantity of items of daily use and other materials have been recovered from the spot. Today after 3 days the soldiers have returned to the district headquarters. After which the police informed the media about this.
