Naxalite commander Jagdish hiding in the hill, force surrounded
Sukma. There has been an encounter between police and Naxalites in the district. It is being told that on the information about the presence of hardcore Naxalites, the soldiers had left for the spot. There was firing from both sides for about 20 minutes in the morning. After the encounter stopped, the soldiers are carrying out a search operation in the area.
Actually, the police had received information from the informer that there were a large number of armed Naxalites, including Naxalite commander Jagdish, on Gogunda hill. On the basis of this information, DRG soldiers were sent to the spot from Sukma. When the soldiers reached the area, the Naxalites started firing. After which the soldiers also took charge and started retaliating.
There was heavy firing from both sides for about 15 to 20 minutes. It is being told that seeing the soldiers being overwhelmed, the Naxalites escaped under the cover of dense forest. At present the encounter has stopped. The soldiers are still present at the spot. Search operation is being conducted. SP Kiran Chavan said that all the soldiers are safe.
