Naxalism will end in the country by March 31: Minister Amit Shah

Guwahati: Union Home Minister Amit Shah said that Naxalism will be eradicated from the country by March 31. He participated in the 87th CRPF Day Parade. He said that CRPF forces played a key role in Jammu and Kashmir. He said that stone pelting incidents there have come down to zero. He said that the forces have also curbed communal violence in Manipur. Minister Shah praised the CRPF for breaking the back of the Maoists in just three years. Shah said that he is confident in the CRPF and that the Naxal problem will be eradicated from the country by March 31, 2026.

Minister Shah praised the forces that carried out Operation Black Forest in Karregutta on the Chhattisgarh-Telangana border. In that operation, 31 Naxals were killed between April and May last year. He said that the operation was carried out in a heat of about 46 degrees. He said that the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) forces showed great courage to liberate the hills from the Naxals.

He said that ten years ago, there were three major hotspots in the country, terrorism in Jammu and Kashmir, infiltration in the North-East, and Naxalism in the forests of Chhattisgarh were big problems, but now those areas have become a symbol of progress and peace. The Minister said that 700 CRPF personnel have lost their lives in the North-Eastern states, 780 in Naxal areas, and 540 in Jammu and Kashmir. He said that due to their sacrifices, those areas, which were once the epicenters of violence, have now become peaceful.
