Raipur: A nationwide National Lok Adalat will be organized on Saturday, 13 July 2024 under the aegis of the National Legal Services Authority (NALSA), New Delhi, to settle cases through mutual reconciliation (compromise). Lok Adalats will also be organized in all the district courts and civil courts of the state by the State Legal Services Authority (SALSA), Bilaspur. This will be the second Lok Adalat of the year 2024. Officials of the State Legal Services Authority said that the upcoming Lok Adalat will be held on 21 September 2024 and 14 December 2024.
Public Court On the day of Lok Adalat, cases of compoundable offences pending in District Court and Taluka Court (Civil Court), cases related to motor accident claim, cases of cheque bounce under 138 NI Act, Section 125 of Criminal Procedure Code and matrimonial disputes, besides water tax, property tax, revenue related cases, traffic challan, fare control excise related cases and pre-litigation cases related to bank electricity, mutual partition between account holders, partition between heirs will be resolved in Revenue Court Bench. National Lok Adalat is an effective step towards reducing the large number of pending cases in courts and providing quick and easy justice to the affected parties.
Benches will be constituted for National Lok Adalat and various cases and pre-litigation will be resolved. Through Lok Adalat, criminal cases which are compoundable in the court under Section. 138, Negotiable Instruments Act, motor accident claim cases, bank recovery cases, civil cases, execution cases, electricity related matters and family dispute cases are resolved. Apart from this, pending recovery related cases in revenue, bank, electricity department, telecom department, Municipal Corporation, Municipal Council, Nagar Panchayat and pre-litigation cases will be presented in District Legal Services Authority. After proper registration, the cases of the concerned parties will be resolved in Lok Adalat division bench. In this way the parties can get their judicial cases resolved through Lok Adalat. Apart from this, pending cases related to recovery in the Department of Telecommunications, Municipal Corporation, Municipal Council, pre-litigation cases, partition on the basis of memory, motor accident claim cases, bank recovery cases, partition on the basis of possession, cases of proceedings under the Indian Justice Code (BNS-2023), Rent Control Act, cases related to easement, as well as cases of transfer on the basis of sale deed, donation deed and will and all other cases will be included and marked and resolved through National Lok Adalat on the basis of mutual compromise.
