Nashik: Six people arrested within hours for allegedly robbing pilgrims in Trimbakeshwar

Maharashtra: On January 16, in the Dhadoshi area of ​​Trimbakeshwar taluka, ten female devotees from Ahilyanagar (Ahmednagar) were robbed of gold jewelry worth lakhs of rupees at knife and sickle point. Following this massive robbery, Ghoti police immediately launched a search operation and arrested six of the accused late Tuesday night. Initial information suggests that the accused are from the Dhadoshi area.

Following the incident, the female devotees were so frightened that they went directly to the Ghoti police station to file a complaint and then immediately left for Ahilyanagar. Police tracked down the complainants, gathered all the information, and with their help, identified the accused. A late-night search operation was launched and six of the robbers were successfully apprehended. Some of the stolen items have been recovered from the accused, and the search for the remaining items is ongoing.

These ten female devotees were performing the circumambulation of Brahmagiri mountain when they were attacked by the robbers in the Dhadoshi area. Threatening them with sickles and knives, they snatched gold jewelry from their necks, hands, and other parts of their bodies. The robbers then threatened the pilgrims and fled. This incident has created an atmosphere of fear among pilgrims in the Trimbakeshwar area.
