Nakodar: Migrant arrested on charges of stealing motor wires.

Nakodar: The Nakodar Sadar Police have arrested a migrant worker on charges of stealing motor wires from a farmer’s field. Investigating Officer (IO) Jiwan Singh stated that the accused has been identified as Sunny Kumar, a native of Bihar, who was currently residing in Kang Sahibu village. Jagan Preet Singh, a resident of Sahem village, filed a complaint with the police alleging that the accused had stolen wires from the motor installed in his field. The IO informed that a case has been registered against the accused under Sections 303(2) (Theft) and 317(2) (Dishonestly receiving stolen property) of the BNS.
One Arrested on Charges of Criminal Breach of Trust
Shahkot: The police have arrested a Proclaimed Offender (PO) on charges of criminal breach of trust and fraud. Investigating Officer (IO) Jagjit Singh stated that the accused has been identified as Honey Kundi, a resident of Mohalla Sundar Nagar in Nakodar. Payal Sood, a resident of Patti Akalpur in Malsian, had filed a complaint with the SSP (Rural) of Jalandhar, alleging that the accused had defrauded her of ₹2.15 lakh under the pretext of securing her a job at Punjab National Bank. The IO noted that a case was registered against the accused on October 16, 2022, and he was declared a Proclaimed Offender on September 22, 2023.
One Person Arrested Under the NDPS Act
Lohian Khas: The police have arrested an individual on charges of selling narcotic pills. Investigating Officer (IO) Jaspal Singh stated that 85 narcotic pills (loose) were recovered from the possession of the accused; the accused has been identified as Mandeep Singh alias Sodhi, a resident of Yusufpur Alowal village. The IO informed that a case has been registered against the accused under Sections 22/61/85 of the NDPS Act. Two Arrested on Charges of Consuming Heroin
Noormahal: The Bilga police have arrested two individuals on charges of consuming heroin. Investigating Officer (IO) Charanjit Singh stated that the accused have been identified as Jaspreet Singh alias Jassa and Arvinder Kumar alias Avi; both are residents of Bilga village. The IO further informed that a lighter, a piece of silver foil, and plastic pipes used for drug consumption were recovered from their possession. A case has been registered against the accused under Sections 27/61/85 of the NDPS Act.
