Vijayawada: TDP chief N Chandrababu Naidu has said that youth will get jobs only when the party returns to power, while also promising to do justice to Anganwadi workers after the new government is formed in the state. Naidu addressed an impressive gathering in Allagadda on Tuesday. Ra Kadalira program. The TDP chief said the YS Jagan Mohan Reddy government has proved to be a curse for the poor people in the state. “Poverty has become worse and unemployment has increased during the YSRC government. Jagan will be remembered in history for the harm he caused to every sector of the state.” Recalling his contribution to the development of Rayalaseema region as former chief minister, Naidu mentioned the chain irrigation system worth Rs 365 crore, the mega seed park with Rs 650 crore and the textile park at Yemmiganur. However, the YSRC government ignored these projects. “If adequate irrigation water is supplied to Rayalaseema, it will emerge as a hub of horticulture. We had provided drip irrigation facilities in 10 lakh acres with the provision of 90% subsidy, but during the YSRC government, the area under horticulture crops reduced to 4 lakh acres,” he lamented. Through the Pattiseema Lift Irrigation Scheme, 120 TMC of Godavari water was diverted to the Krishna delta and stored in the Srisailam project. The tender process for bringing Godavari water to Nagarjuna Sagar Right Canal was started during the TDP regime. Had the project been implemented, 250 TMC of water could have been diverted and stored in the Srisailam project,” he said, adding that his aim is to provide 350 TMC of water to the Rayalaseema region to eliminate drought. Naidu also said that he has conceived a plan to bring Godavari water in the Nagarjuna Sagar project, build a tunnel in the Nallamala forest and divert the water to Banakacherla. “From Banakacherla, water can be supplied to Handri Neeva, Telugu Ganga, SRBC and KC Canal and this project will make drought-prone Rayalaseema fertile,” he said. The TDP chief also highlighted his efforts to invite major companies to make Rayalaseema a hub of electronics and automobiles, comparing it with Jagan’s failure to attract even a single company to the state in the last five years. He expressed confidence that TDP-JSP will win all the seven assembly seats in the reorganized Nandyal district in the upcoming elections.
