Dhamtari. Police post Birejhar and cyber team have arrested the accused of murder of the dead body found in village Sirri bridge. On 9.10.24, after an unknown dead body was found in the water of the big canal on village Sirri road, Birejhar post immediately registered a case and during investigation, the unknown body was identified as Kishore Sahu, son of Chandrahas Sahu, age 22 years, resident of village Kandel. After this, the body was found tied with both hands behind the back and both legs. The postmortem of the dead body was done. On the basis of short postmortem report by the doctor and available circumstantial evidence, it appeared to be a murder. Police post-mortem in-charge Birejhar found that the deceased Kishore Sahu was murdered by an unknown person and thrown in the canal water with the intention of hiding evidence. Crime was registered against the unknown accused and investigation was taken. During the investigation the whereabouts of the accused were being sought. During this period the family members of the deceased and the friend who had gone to the liquor distillery with the deceased were strictly interrogated and their statements were taken on which they told that they had last seen him with Mukesh Sahu, a resident of village Gagara. So the enquiry was done by going to Mukesh Sahu’s house in village Gagara.
When Mukesh Sahu was found present at home, he was taken into custody and on strict interrogation he told that Bhaskar Sarva and Suraj’s friend all three had gone to the distillery to get liquor. Mukesh stayed there as Kishore was heavily intoxicated. As it was getting dark, he made Kishore sit in his own motorcycle and started driving towards Gagra. Kishore fell down from the vehicle due to being heavily intoxicated. Seeing Kishore’s new motorcycle and new mobile, I said that the mobile and the motorcycle will be mine and I made Kishore Sahu sit behind me in the motorcycle and keeping both my hands in the tank of the motorcycle from behind my waist, pressing my hands with my legs, I drove the motorcycle from the main road through village Chhati to village Dandesara. From Dandesara, I went over the canal and stopped the motorcycle and removed the black cloth covering the paravat on the bank of the canal and made Kishore Sahu sit in the motorcycle again. I took him behind Raju Dhaba on the bank of the canal and tore the cloth and tied both hands and legs of Kishore from behind and drowned him in the canal water and killed him. To hide the body, I threw it in the canal water. I removed the SIM card from Kishore Sahu’s Oppo mobile and threw it in the canal water. The accused told that he had removed the number plate and mirror of the motorcycle and thrown it in the canal, sold the mobile in village Chhati, spent the money on food and drinks and hid the motorcycle in his house. On the basis of the accused’s information, the motorcycle and mobile were recovered and seized from village Gagra. Later, the accused was taken into custody and brought to Kurud police station.
On the basis of statements of witnesses, site inspection and circumstantial evidence in the case, the act of accused Mukesh Sahu, father Kushal Ram Sahu, age 27 years, village Gagra, police station Arjuni, district Dhamtari was found to have committed a crime. Crime number 416/24 under section 103(1)238 BNS was registered at outpost Birejhar and the accused was duly arrested and sent on judicial remand.
