Murder of the bride because he did not want to get married, groom arrested

Bhilai . In Durg district, the groom-to-be killed the bride 2 days before the wedding. He had called the girl to meet him at 12 o’clock at night. Meanwhile, a dispute started between the two over something. There was a lot of tussle between the two. During this, the girl fell on the stairs and fainted. Thinking her dead, the would-be husband threw her in the pond.

The incident is of Madesara village of Nandini police station area. According to the information, the incident happened on the night of July 9. 19-year-old Tejashwani Joshi’s marriage was fixed with Human Joshi (24 years), a resident of Birebhat. Both were to get married on July 12. Tejashwani died before this and her would-be husband was arrested on murder charges. Tejashwani’s body was found in the pond of Madesara village on July 11. Then it was suspected that she was not happy with the marriage and hence she might have committed suicide by jumping into the pond. The police sent the body for postmortem and started the investigation.

Durg City ASP Sukhnandan Rathore said that the postmortem report showed injury marks on the head. Hence the police started the investigation from the angle of murder. Based on call details and location, the biggest suspect was Human Joshi. On being taken into custody and questioned, he confessed to the murder. The police is busy recovering the mobile from the pond. During interrogation, the accused told the police that there were fights between the two every day, so both did not want to get married. They were getting married due to social pressure. Due to this, both of them fought on the night of July 9 and Human committed the crime.
