Municipal elections in Uttarakhand will be held on time: CM Dhami

Dehradun (IANS) | Uttarakhand Chief Minister Pushkar Dhami said that the civic body elections in the state will be held on time. Right now the process of delimitation of bodies is going on. Soon the delimitation reports will be received from the districts by the government. In the secretariat, the CM said that the state government and the BJP organization body are ready for the elections. In fact, the opposition kept accusing the government of postponing the civic body elections again and again. Meanwhile, the CM made it clear that the elections would be held within the stipulated time. He said that the process of delimitation of some wards of civic bodies and expansion of some is going on.

The DM is engaged in the process and has been instructed to act expeditiously. As soon as this process is completed, the government will send this proposal to the State Election Commission. Elections are proposed in the bodies in the month of November. There are 103 municipal bodies in the state, out of which elections are proposed in 97.

At the same time, State Election Commissioner Chandrashekhar Bhatt says that the commission is waiting for the delimitation report. After this, the process of making a new voter list and then reservation will be adopted. He told that the commission is fully prepared to conduct the body elections.
