Mumbai: A 32-year-old man suffering from mental illness allegedly made a false call to the Maharashtra Police control room about a bomb threat in Mumbai, police said on Sunday. Police traced the man in Amravati, but did not make any arrests as they found he was mentally unstable, an Amravati police officer said. He said that the person living near Raja Peth Police Commissionerate called the state police emergency number 112 on Saturday afternoon. The person calling said there had been a bomb blast in Mumbai and disconnected the call, the officer said. Investigation revealed that the call was made from a mobile phone and its location was immediately tracked. The man is mentally unstable and is undergoing psychiatric treatment, the officer said.
